What is the meaning of Sangat?
– This is a term used in Sanskrit to mean fellowship or association. This is referring to a group of individuals united together, embedded with thoughts of selfless service. This is relevant to this participatory cause because we target to feed less privileged individuals in order to formulate the concept of Sangat.

 

What does Seva mean?
– This sole Sanskrit word gave rise to a community of individuals wanting to give back to the world in which they live. Seva is a commonly used term among Indian backgrounds, which means to perform a service without any thought or expectation of an award. It is merely thought of as a duty to society. With this in mind, we hope to give back to those who cannot make ends meet and are less fortunate.

 

What is the meaning of Langar?
– This is a term in the Sikh language that means common kitchen where food is served to anyone and everyone for free. This concept was started over 500 years ago and has been passed down since then. This idea was started to promote a vision to serve mankind and treat everyone equal. It is intended to bring people from all walks of life together in one spot and share a meal, regardless of age, sex, race, religion or sexuality.
